I also tried, as some previous posters suggested, to set it so that Windows can't turn off the Wireless adapter, but this has also not solved the problem.įrom reading a number of other posts, it may be related to a recent Windows update. I tried updating the device driver, but that hasn't solved the problem (it is also worth mentioning that Windows Update/Device Manager could not find the newest driver I had to go to Intel's website and download the Intel ProSet tool with the driver and A system reboot will result in the Wireless adapter returning Under Settings > Network and Internet > View your network properties, it will show the adapter as having a dormant status. When this happens, it disappears from the system when you go thru theĬontrol Panel (Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network Connections). Sometimes it will turn back on within a minute or two, other times not. For about a week now, I have had issues with my Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 adapter randomly turning off.
